In the final of 2015 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai, Venus Williams, the 35-year-old famous American tennis player, beat the rising Czech player Karolina Pliskova 7-5, 7-6 (6) and won the 48th title in her career, making her long-awaited return to the Top 10.

Starting her tennis career 20 years ago, Venus Williams, the former Top 1 and the holder of seven titles of Grand Slam, is still on her game and quite competent. She has also won 14 double titles of Grand Slam, and she has occupied the throne for a long time. Although her strength wanes with age, Venus still gives better performance in tennis court because of her gifted talent and unyielding spirit.

We are much impressed by the her persistence and enthusiasm for the tennis. In 2017 season, Venus reached the finals of both Australia Open and Wimbledon Open. Though she failed to won the titles, her enormous endeavor had already touched most of us. We should show our respect to her and wish her more achievements in her future career.
The champion of 2016 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuha: Petra Kvitova

In the final of 2016 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai, twice Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, beat the fourth-seeded Elina Svitolina 6-4, 6-2 and took the crown without losing one set. In her first appearance in this tournament, she claimed her second title of 2016 WTA Tour and her 19th career title.
With her highest ranking of Top Two, the Czech is now one of the leader among female tennis players in the world. Besides, she is also the first player born in the 1990s to win a Grand Slam title in 2011 Wimbledon Open. However, 2016 season was a tough time for Kvitova. She fired her coach, broke up with her boyfriend, and she was out of form in most of the matches. In spite of the hardship, she managed to wear the champion’s laurel in Wuhan Open and put an end to a 13-month title drought. Finally, she ascended to the top in 2016 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai.
With the strong performance in Zhuhai, Kvitova has come back, with powerful playing style and strong spirit. We believe that Kvitova will give us more surprises in 2017 season. “Come on, Petra!”
